Job Purpose
The Human Resource Manager will work closely with the HR Director to oversee key HR functions and craft strategies that meet the set goals. Take the lead in crafting talent acquisition strategies to build strong pipelines for future hiring needs and formulate career development plans. Overseeing HR systems, handling employee relations, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing budgets, assessing staffing needs, hiring employees, designing training programs, and developing compensation plans. Promote inclusion in the workplace and reinforce our position as an equal opportunity employer

Summary of Key Responsibilities;

  • Work with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention
  • Work with the HRD in Developing and implementing human resources policies.
  • Monitor and ensure the Company’ is in compliance with local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and executes best practices for hiring and talent management
  • Develop HR policies for all branches and provinces/regions
  • Analyze the effectiveness of our HR procedures and tools
  • Work closely with HODs to ensure HR plans align with our mission and business objectives
  • Ensure that the onboarding and management procedures are effective for diverse groups
  • Lead employer branding efforts (like recruitment marketing)
  • Evaluate training and development programs
  • Planning, Coordinating and Maintaining a smooth onboarding process.
  • Training, counselling and coaching our staff.
  • Develop and implement an effective succession plan.
  • Resolving conflicts through positive and professional mediation.
  • With the HRD periodically take the leading conducting SMT performance and wage reviews.
  • Formulate and implement clear policies and ensure employee policy awareness.
  • Maintaining and reporting on workplace health and safety compliance.

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience



  • Degree in Human Resources Management or Equivalent.
  • Masters in any Social Science Field will be a plus
  • Must have a minimum of 8 – 10 years experience in human resources with a reputable firm with a huge workforce (Commercial Bank, Financial Institution or Insurance)
  • Must have at least 5 years HR progressive experience in Senior Management in a Commercial Bank
  • Proven experience in HR Strategic Planning
  • Good understanding of the Zambian labour legislation
  • Excellent leadership abilities
  • Must be a member of the ZIHRM
