Job Summary:  To schedule preventive and unplanned maintenance and extensively analyze work orders and get necessary results and get the real equipment running costs as well as keep equipment maintenance history.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaises with Maintenance and production departments to achieve contract compliance.
  • Manage Maintenance and Production systems.
  • Schedule maintenance plans project completion and manage resources.
  • Develops a production schedule detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by to meet predicted completion date.
  • Liaises with client , employees to ensure all workers, materials, and machinery will be available when required
  • Monitors project’s progress and costs.
  • Be able to operate as project manager reliefs.
  • Organizes project paperwork, including purchase orders, and maintains records.
  • Monitors costs and submit weekly and monthly reports internal and external.
  • Collects and assesses data about the Maintenance /production and team’s performance.
  • Prepares reports about production processes for upper management and suggests ways to improve efficiency.
  • To ensure that customer demands are met in terms of response, service etc.
  • Continuously development by taking up training courses on Competence Portal.
  • Performs other related work as assigned
  • To be available 24/7.

  • To conduct and attend SHEQ talks at the start of the shift
  • To wear correct PPE at all times
  • To ensure good housekeeping in the workshop
  • To report all incident/accidents to the immediate supervisor

Requirements (Education and experience)

  • Minimum a Degree in Mining or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience on both surface and underground drilling mining equipment such as drill rigs, etc.

  • Ability to identify mechanical problems and apply diagnostic methods to achieve satisfactory results.
  • Ability to interpret Hydraulic/ pneumatic/Electrical drawings.
  • Ability to identify, organize and use resources effectively to complete tasks with due regard to cost, quality, safety and environmental impact.
  • Function as an effective member of a team.
  • Manage and apply safe systems of work.
  • Accept responsibility for work of self and others.
  • Work reliably and effectively without close supervision, to the appropriate codes of practice.
  • Attention to detail and show a strong sense of urgency.
