Brief project summary
Avencion has collaborated with Boston University with the support of the Bill and Melinda
Gates Foundation on a COVID-19 surveillance research project aiming to measure the
prevalence of COVID-19 deaths across persons of all ages, determine the relative contribution
of the different COVID-19 variants by genotyping CV-19+ samples (Ct<30) as they are
identified and characterize the pathology of fatal COVID-19 among pediatric deaths using
minimally invasive tissue sampling.

Job Duties include:

• Facilitate all Lusaka Covid Impact Study local project activities laid out from Principal Investigator and Management.
• Organize and schedule weekly meetings and ensure all documented reports from the meetings are shared with the management, Principal Investigator and the project team.
• Ensure all approved project materials are documented in the regulatory file which is stored at the Avencion Head Quarters
• Ensure all study materials are available for the project field team at all times
• To participate in analyzing/writing of all project manuscripts as guided by the Principal Investigator
• Act as a link between the field team, laboratory team and Avencion management in matters concerning the study and welfare of the project team
• Coordinate with the field and lab leads in ensuring that timesheets, work activity reports and submission of invoices are done in good time.
• Assist in developing project strategy plans based on logical framework approaches
• Maintain project timeframes, objectives, and communications
• Identify and communicate the gaps and operational requirements of the project with management.
• Collect the necessary information required to improve the running of the project
• Any other tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications & Job requirements

• Preferably medical profession qualification but not a requirement
• At least Bachelor’s Degree in a medical field or any relevant field
• Must have a valid practicing license, if any
• Good communication skills
• Good time management skills
• Must be inquisitive
• Must be flexible and adaptable
• Excellent People management skills
• Must be computer literate
