Job title: Cashier

Reports to: Sales Executive

Function: Cashiering, Sales and Marketing

Location: Mumbwa District

Purpose statement:

The Cashier will oversee the day to day activities of the Cashering and ensure the sales in the Retail Shop is organised, efficient and daily sales reports are accurate with the cash sold. The person will have to manage a retail shop under self supervision but reporting to the sales executive

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
• Processing cash, debit, credit and check transation using a cash register
• Weighing products
• Balancing the cash register, making change, recording purchases
• Issue receipts
• Cash handling
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
• Handling of pretty cash

Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate with credit or better
• Certificate or diploma in sales and marketing or equivalent
• Some accounting or booking knowledge will be added advantage
• Minimum of 1-2 years in cashiering in a retail enviroment.
