To support our business growth applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the job of Head of Department – Operations Manager.

The main responsibility of the Operations Manager is to proactively  manage the smooth running of  business operations in order to maximize efficiency, as well as business performance contributing to the profitable growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities;



  • Set routines for planning, follow up meetings and carry out regular meetings.
  • Verify efficient flow of authorized work in the workshop, ensuring quality and documentation.
  • Develop, implement and monitor standards and routines, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness within the workshop
  • Monitor the ongoing condition of workshop tools and equipment, arranging purchase, repair and calibration
  • Monitor and handle deviations, initiate proper actions and escalations
  • Promote and work with SAP (ERP) to ensure quality standards in all areas of the business
  • Create working time schedules.
  • Build and maintain the right level of relationships with mechanics/foremen.
  • Assist workshop personnel regarding technical issues.
  • Enable a team based approach ensuring open and effective communication within the workshop to achieve common business objectives
  • Manage and analyze the workshop’s running costs and expenditure budget
  • Set, monitor, maintain and follow up KPIs
  • Analyze current standards to identify and present opportunities for improvement of the workshop
  • Proactively initiate improvement activities, ensuring conditions are in place to achieve workshop goals
  • Using an understanding of business issues, processes and outcomes to enhance business performance
  • Managing others to ensure their work contributes to organizational goals. Developing individuals, building teams, resolving conflicts and applying workplace policies
  • Planning, allocating and mobilizing resources (human, physical, information and financial resources) to achieve organizational goals
  • Maintains an up to date understanding of products and services necessary to perform duties and tasks.
  • Demonstrates understanding for importance of safety and health policies, procedures and regulations. Creates and safeguards a healthy, safe and sustainable work environment for all employees.

  • Coordinate with stores Dpt , Forecast and order spare parts for specific jobs/special job or for stocks replenishment.
  • With SAP maintains service logs on all equipment/vehicles and small tools.
  • Monthly & Daily MIS preparation & Review.
  • Verify all job cards are signed by drivers on completion of service.
  • Authorize and analyze consumption of all spare parts.
  • Reports include but are not limited to; Monthly efficiency reports, Spare part consumption report, Mechanic reports on efficiency, Target report, Stock reports, Cost per kilometer report on all consumables (CPK).
  • Develop inspections checklist pre and post trip.
  • Develop Quality control policies and procedures.
  • Ability to replace, set corrective and preventative maintenance plans on all major spare items such as the following; Air systems, Engine, Brake system, Gearbox, Differential, Chassis, Electrical, Hubs and Suspension.
  • Performs trouble shooting and diagnostics procedure on vehicles and equipment.
  • Record observations and findings during diagnostics run and decide on the correct method of repair, as necessary.

The Preferred candidate should have a Degree or Higher Education backed by a minimum of 8 years experience in managing fleet of heavy-duty trucks. Should have Technical & supervisory knowledge. A team player , reliable and with high self motivation .
