Lumwana Mining Company Limited (LMC), a copper mining company owned by Barrick Gold Corporation is situated in the Northwestern region of Zambia, some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and 95 km southwest of the provincial capital of Solwezi. The mine is a multi-pit, multi staged operation mining approximately 100MT of ore and waste per annum and producing copper concentrates containing an average of 120,000 tonnes of copper metal per year over a twenty (20) year mine life, making Lumwana the largest single open cut copper mine in Africa. The Company is now looking for an experienced and qualified individual to be considered for the position of Human Resources Officer.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Coordinator – Talent Management and HRIS, your duties will include but not limited to the following;

Responsibilities

Administering Junior staff Compensation and Benefits
Preparing payroll inputs, reviewing payroll outputs and printing pay slips
Conducting HR Information Audits and updating Human Resource Information System
Conducting Human Capital data Analysis and reporting
Preparing and submitting Statutory Monthly labour returns
Assist in preparing and updating job descriptions
Conduct recruitment of new staff as assigned
Provide administrative assistance during performance assessments



Experience & Qualifications

Degree in Human Resources or any Social Science from a recognized Institution
Must be a valid member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
Minimum of two years’ work experience, preferably in the Mining Industry
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Human Resources field (including Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, Employee Relations, Performance Management and Training)
Direct, hands-on experience with system-related projects and familiarity with system interfaces, preferably Sage 300 People payroll systems and Element HR System
Effective organizational and interpersonal abilities including written and verbal communication skills
Advanced analytical skills in Excel and ability to produce reports in PowerPoint and MS Word
