EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY- DIRECTOR GENERAL
- The National Museums Board Zambia. Unites applications from suitably qualified and professionally experienced Zambians for the post of Director General which falls vacant on 31″ December. 2020.
- The successful candidate will be reposing directly to the Chairperson. National Museums Board and will be based in Lusaka
JOB PURPOSE
- To plan, organize. direct, control, coordinate, supervise. interpret and implement Board policies and program= to ensure sustainable development of Museums in Zambia
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Applicant should have ability to:-
- Plan and maintain management and development of museums for achievement of the National Museums Board mission and objectives.
- Effectively organize, directs control and coordinate Board plans and programmes for smooth operations of museums
- Supervise museum Directors and other staff in the execution of Board policies and programmes.
- Interpret and implement Board policies and Programmes.
- Control effectively Board operations and resources in order to ensure efficiency.
- Oversee operations of the NMB Secretariat
- Employ all employees. other than Directors of
- Convene and produce minutes for Board and Management Meetings.
- Timely produce reports for line Ministry and the Board.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Holder of a minimum professional qualification of a Masters Degree Ma heritage !elated field.
- At least a relevant pre-job experience of five years in heritage management.
- Management experience in an organization and a traceable record of research and publications in heritage related fields would be an added advantage.
- Good inter-personal and communication skills.
- Good understanding in conflict and union resolution, personnel management and ability to make
- Competence in driving and use of computers will be added advantage.

- This is a three-year contractual appointment but renewable depending on performance with an attractive remuneration package.
